Matthew has been selected to be a career role model on the Institute of Physics website. The careers section of the site highlights the diverse range of careers that a degree in physics can lead to.

Matthew studied BSc Physics with Study in Continental Europe at the University of Bristol. As part of his studies, he spent a year at l’Université Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, where he developed a very convincing French accent and a love of the language.

“Physics really isn’t a subject that takes you down a narrow pathway. The combination of technical knowledge and analytical thinking can open a lot of doors.” says Matthew, who now finds it difficult to describe his own work in a single sentence.
